Book Review // Star Wars: The High Republic – The Eye of Darkness
The Eye of Darkness launches Phase III of the High Republic with a galaxy trapped behind the Nihil's Stormwall and a Jedi Order struggling to fight back. While I enjoyed the story and its characters, I was slightly disappointed to discover I'd accidentally bought the audiobook script rather than a traditional novel.
Book Review // Judge Dredd: Dreddlocked
It’s been a while since we dove into a Judge Dredd novel, and this one has been sitting on the shelf far too long. It feels good to finally get it read and checked off the collection. It’s also helping to fuel my push into building up my Dan Abnett block while I continue to paint up my collection of Warlord Games Judge Dredd models. So this time around, we’re jumping into book three of the Virgin series, so let’s dive in.

A moody return into the early work of H.P. Lovecraft, The Alchemist offers a gothic, slow-burning tale of curses and crumbling legacies.
Book Review: Inheritor by Gav Thorpe
Inheritor follows the infamous Eliphas of the Word Bearers as he pursues a dark ritual during Lorgar’s Shadow Crusade in Ultramar. Gav Thorpe brings the fan-favourite Dawn of War character into Horus Heresy lore in a short but entertaining tale of ambition, heresy, and Traitor Legion rivalries.
Book Review: Brotherhood of the Moon by Chris Wraight
A White Scars warrior stands trial after rebellion tears through the Legion, but Torghun Khan believes his loyalty lies elsewhere. Chris Wraight’s Brotherhood of the Moon dives into the honour, brotherhood, and dangerous loyalties that nearly pulled the White Scars toward Horus.
Book Review: Deathmasques - Dave Stone
Dredd leaves Mega-City One behind for Brit-Cit in Deathmasques, tracking a murderous body-hopping alien alongside fan-favourite Judge Armitage. The result is a bloody, fast-moving sci-fi adventure full of weird locations, mega-corporate nonsense, and a healthy dose of classic Dredd justice.
Audio Review // Twisted by Guy Haley
Twisted is a tense and surprisingly effective Horus Heresy short story that puts Maloghurst back in the spotlight. Stalked by a Neverborn aboard the Vengeful Spirit, the Warmaster’s equerry fights to prove his worth in a Legion that’s rapidly leaving him behind. Atmospheric, unsettling, and a strong follow-up to Vengeful Spirit — but frustratingly short once it gets going.
Book Review // Star Wars: Tales from the Empire
As with most anthologies, quality and impact vary, but the range here is genuinely impressive. The collection jumps between viewpoints constantly: civilians, smugglers, Imperial personnel, Rebels, and those just trying to survive another day under Imperial rule.

Continuing my slow but steady journey through Stephen King’s back catalogue, I finally got around to The Dead Zone. This one has been sitting on my mental “must read eventually” list for a while, and I’m glad I finally made the time for it.
