ABC Warriors Hammerstein MK1 Droids – From Start to Finish

I've been spending some time working on these ABC Warriors Hammerstein MK1 droids and thought I'd put together a little photo graphic to show the painting process from start to finish.

This was one of those projects where I really wanted to capture that gritty, industrial, battle-worn feel that ABC Warriors are known for. Rather than keeping them clean and pristine, I leaned heavily into weathering, rust effects and plenty of grime to make them look like they've been fighting for decades.

I always enjoy seeing how a model transforms through each stage, so I thought it would be fun to document the journey old skool, like I use to do 10+ years ago. Sometimes when you're in the middle of a project it can feel like you're not making much progress, but putting the stages side by side really shows how all those little steps add up.

The Hammerstein MK1 sculpts have so much character and detail that they were an absolute pleasure to paint. It was also a great excuse to experiment with different metallic finishes and weathering techniques.

I'm really happy with how they've turned out and, as always, it's another small adventure added to the Adventures with Peps collection.

I hope you enjoy the graphic, and perhaps it might even inspire you to dig out an old project and get some paint on some miniatures.
