Comic Review // Predator vs. Black Panther
One of the things I've been trying to do lately is broaden my reading. Judge Dredd and Warhammer still dominate the bookshelves, but now and then I like to jump into something completely different. This time, it was Predator vs. Black Panther, and I have to say... I had a great time with it.

Review
Let's get one thing out of the way straight away. The artwork is phenomenal. Every page feels cinematic, and the artists do an incredible job of capturing both the elegance of Wakanda and the brutal, primal presence of the Predator. Whether it's a quiet moment inside the royal palace or an explosive confrontation in the wilderness, the visuals never let up. I found myself slowing down just to appreciate some of the panels before moving on.
Thankfully, the story matches the artwork. I really enjoyed the premise. The Predator is such a natural fit for the Marvel Universe because it immediately raises the stakes. Wakanda isn't just another place to hunt; it's home to one of the most technologically advanced civilisations in comics. Watching the Predator adapt to that challenge while Black Panther is forced to hunt a creature unlike anything he's faced before makes for a really entertaining read.
What I enjoyed most was that neither character felt out of place. The comic respects both franchises, allowing each to shine without making either feel weakened. That's not always easy in crossover stories, but I think this series manages it well. As I was reading, though, my mind kept drifting somewhere else...Sector 102.
This comic immediately got my imagination working. If a single Predator can create this much tension in Wakanda, what would happen if one found its way into the depths of Sector 102? (Yes, I know 2000 AD has covered this).
I can already picture it stalking the flooded tunnels beneath Pat Mills Tower, hunting mutants through the Spillways, or silently picking off Kelp Pharmacy security teams one by one. Suddenly, every expedition into the undercity becomes a survival horror story. Every abandoned corridor becomes a potential hunting ground.
That's probably the biggest compliment I can give this comic. It didn't just entertain me; it inspired me. The best stories always leave me wanting to create something of my own, and Predator vs Black Panther has definitely planted the seed to introduce a hunter into my Mega-City One worldbuilding. Maybe not an actual Predator, of course, but something that captures that same relentless feeling of being hunted.
Final Thoughts
Predator vs. Black Panther is everything I hoped it would be: exciting, beautifully illustrated, and packed with tense action. More importantly, it reminded me why I love reading comics in the first place. Sometimes they aren't just stories to enjoy; they're fuel for the imagination.
Now if you'll excuse me, I think I have a terrifying new creature to design for Sector 102...
