Welcome back for beer review. Now I've been very fortunate to spent some time in Boston. Which has an amazing beer scene mostly help out by the fact Trillium and Treehouse are both near by. But for me it's home to a timeless classic brewery Samuel Adams. In a beer scene full of cloudy IPA's, it is easy to overlook a company that you can find everywhere. So today we celebrate a great company with a review. I've picked Rebel IPA as it is easy to find here in Canada, but isn't the standard Boston Lager. I believe you should be able to find this beer wherever in the world you live, so head out buy one and see if you agree!
Details
Name: Rebel IPA
Style: IPA
Brewery: Samuel Adams (https://www.samueladams.com/)
Country: Boston, USA
Price: $13.80 CAD for a 6 Pack of bottles. $2.30 a bottle.
ABV: 6.5%
Commercial Fluff:
"Rebel IPA is brewed with 5 varieties of West coast hops: cascade, simcoe, centennial, chinook, & amarillo. It’s everything we love about West coast style IPA’s. Big citrus & grapefruit flavors with subtle pine notes for a flavorful refreshing brew."
Sight: This beer beer pours a clear orange tinted yellow, with a good lively white head. Looks to have good carbonation with bubbles running up the beer.
Aroma: Nice light hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Also has hint of toffee about it suggesting a good malty base.
Taste: Hit straight away by citrus zing from the hops. A pleasant medium mouthfeel and finishes with a refreshing bitterness. Very easy to drink, six was consumed with ease and was left wanting more.
Would I buy it again? Yes. It may not be first draft pick, but it would definitely be safe pick for a sports bar.
Unsurprisingly the masters of beer have produced a beer I like. This may not always be my first choice depending on the bar (so much choice these days). But this is a great beer to take to house parties and share with friends. It's one of those beers that I like to call a bar tester, if you get given a bad pint of this then you are in a bad bar! So please leave that bar immediately and maybe complain if you want.
Have you tried this beer drop me comment either here or on google+ and until next time keep drinking!
